Ancient Ireland This site is dedicated to provide pictures and information about Ancient Irish antiquities we've visited. We created www.AncientIreland.org to provided a site that focuses on ancient Irish antiquities. We first focused on providing pages to hold the pictures from the ancient site we've visited. We are now focusing on providing the "content" for each page including "At a glance" for a quick summary of information for the site, directions to the site, background and history of the site and archaeology survey references (and other references) if available. Currently, much of our effort is being put into
a reference and guide for the
Ogham stone collection at University College Cork. This
is a fine collection of 27 Ogham stones that is open to the public.
Just as with the the pages
on www.roundtowers.org, holding your mouse over the thumbnail pictures will "popup" information for some
of the pictures and "clicking" on any thumbnail pictures will load up a 1024x780 version of that picture.
We make the original 2048x1536 pixel version
of each picture on each our websites available at no charge to interested parties on a case by case basis.
